Information And Tips Bringing Your Baby Home

Posted:23 October, 2008 by admin

Your baby faces a lot right after his birth. Faced with the sudden transformation in his habitat, an infant often experiences extreme stress as he tries to adjust to it. That is why the first few weeks are a bit trying for the baby. He and you are desperately trying to get adjusted to each other and there is utter chaos everywhere. Your changed life will not be difficult to adjust to if you keep your head on your shoulders and follow the suggestions.

Baby

Sing and talk to your baby: Your newborn begins to hear your voice while still growing inside you. The soothing effect of your voice makes him feel comfortable. Being familiar with your voice he will be able to focus on what you are trying to communicate.

Always look at your child directly in the eye. Watch out for the cues your newborn gives you and you will know how he wants you to communicate with him.

Try to pat your baby whenever possible. If possible, learn about infant massage techniques and incorporate them into your daily routine. Besides strengthening the bond between mother and child, it is a scientifically proven fact that massage also helps to get rid of colic pain and constipation in addition to inducing good sleep pattern.

The physical contact with you assures your baby of his well being. Instead of a pram or stroller carry him in a sling, touching your body. Make your baby feel secure and snug by cuddling up next to him and passing your body warmth over to him. A baby sling is a useful thing as you get to be in constant physical contact with your baby whereas your hands are free to complete a few chores around the house.

That is the only way he can express his discomfort. Check yourself first and attend to his needs. Pick him up, cuddle him, and try to figure out just what it is he needs. You can then do the needful to relieve him.

This is his basic necessity and will not spoil him. By regularly responding to your newborn, you’re forming a healthy bond that makes him feel secure. In the first few weeks, new moms may feel ignorant about the needs of their newborns. When the bond between you and your newborn is created, express your love through all his senses.
