Plastering: A Professional Work?

All of us are familiar with the term ‘plastering’. It roughly refers to the process in which bricks, lying one over the other, are set into a joint rigid construction. It is not any easy job but it requires practice and learning. Most of us must have seen this process being done.

There are certain myths associated with plastering. It is believed that you require special training and many years of practice to do it professionally. They say a lot of plastering courses are available to suit one’s requirement. But these all are myth except that you require practice and patience to do it. This myth persists because no one would have ever seen a layman do this job. So we believe that experts are required to this job. Most people associated with construction; can do other work except plastering. This is not because they don’t have the capability rather plastering is a work which is done by rules. You can not add anything by your own. It is a book work.

There are specified rules from you don’t have to deviate if you want to do plastering. That is why builders can do brickwork, roofing, joinery, plumbing but they require an expert to do plastering. You can do plastering yourself by enrolling into any of the plastering course. There are two basic rules which you must follow while plastering:

1) It is totally book work. You will have to work according to the rules.
2) You can not improvise it. It can not be possible, so better not try.
